Trade in Services

Services account for more than 70 percent of GDP in the advanced economies, and yet only 20 percent of world trade. At the same time trade in services grows faster than trade in goods, and services trade is the major source of the gains from many free trade agreements between high-income countries.

Copenhagen Economics understand how trade in services work, and we have a long track-record for analysing trade in services. Much more needs to be done. However, we can help evaluate the impact of the removal of barriers to services trade, and advise for sound and welfare improving strategies.
